Zelene Laži / Green Lies
Green Lies follows Ana, a passionate environmental activist fighting against a powerful lithium mining company destroying her beloved hometown’s landscape. As protests escalate, Ana becomes consumed by rage and extremism, pushing away her closest friends, Petra and Marko. What begins as a fight for truth slowly turns into manipulation, paranoia, and isolation. Faced with the consequences of her actions and the collapse of her relationships, Ana must confront whether the fight for a better future can survive when humanity is lost along the way.
Statement
Green Lies is a social impact project because it addresses urgent real-world issues that directly affect society for example environmental destruction, corporate power, misinformation, and the radicalization of young people. Through the story of Ana and her activism against lithium mining, the film encourages audiences to question the cost of not so “green” industrial progress and the emotional consequences of extreme activism.
The project also opens discussion about how fear, anger, and social pressure can divide friendships and communities. By focusing on personal relationships instead of only politics, the film makes complex environmental and social issues emotionally accessible to younger audiences and encourages reflection, dialogue, and critical thinking.
