REIMAGINING FESTIVALS

Duemila30 Festival is an international programme that reimagines what a festival can be. Rather than focusing on competition or technical perfection, it creates a collaborative space where filmmakers, artists, and young creatives come together to explore storytelling as a tool for social impact.

Over four days in Milan, screenings, workshops, and shared practices unfold across the city, inviting participants to engage not only with films but with each other, through dialogue, feedback, and collective reflection. In a context where processes of de-humanisation increasingly shape contemporary realities, Duemila30 Festival emerges as a space for re-connection, solidarity, and care. It is not centred on films as products, but on the people who create them and the relationships that emerge through the process.

A GLOBAL COMMUNITY

Grounded in collaboration rather than competition, Duemila30 recentres human connection as a creative force capable of transforming tensions and differences into shared understanding.

The festival brings together a global community, over 200 filmmakers from more than 80 countries in the latest edition, while opening access to a broader ecosystem of opportunities reserved for its alumni,. Its selection approach does not prioritise technical skill or prior achievement, recognising that these are often shaped by unequal access to resources; instead, it seeks to create space for a wide diversity of voices, stories, and perspectives. Duemila30 is, ultimately, a cultural space built on the belief that creativity can generate empathy, that relationships can shape meaning, and that communities can be intentionally crafted through shared practice.
