Unspoken Words

Unspoken words is a film-letter addressed by a girl in love to her lover who has passed away.
She addresses him with the words she never said to him during his lifetime and tries to find answers in her ever-deforming memory.

Statement

The story of Daryna and Andrii in this film is drawn directly from my own experience, where a young person’s death was caused by the war. In my film, I reflected on my own experiences and aimed to convey two things through it: if we have the ability to feel, we must share it, not keep it to ourselves. But this insight would never have emerged in my life had it not been for the war, which robbed me of the chance to express my feelings to the person they were meant for. War is an injustice that robs us of our youth, our younger generations, and the happiness and carefreeness that should be a given, not a privilege. Through my film, I wanted to visually express the consequences of war and people’s indifference. I see my film, Unspoken Words, as a cry about the reality that most of the world is facing because of the war.
