The Left Behind

The Left Behind is a short documentary film that exposes the reality of human rights violations faced by persons with psychosocial disabilities in mental rehabilitation institutions. Through the life story of Berlian Kharisma, the film reveals firsthand accounts of the violence experienced while residing in such a facility.

Statement

This film raises awareness about the human rights and social challenges experienced by people with psychosocial disabilities. The film explores how stigma, isolation, and lack of understanding can affect their lives and their relationship with society.

Through personal experiences and human-centered storytelling, the film aims to encourage empathy and challenge the way we perceive individuals who are often marginalized. The Left Behind seeks to remind audiences that every person deserves dignity, care, and the opportunity to be heard.
