Luna (Breaking the Silence) is a first-person documentary that traces an intimate journey through infertility and Endometriosis, told from inside the experience itself. Through personal archives, reconstructed moments, and a restrained voice-over, the film reveals the weight of unanswered diagnoses, social pressure, repeated IVF failures, and the quiet endurance required to keep going.
Set in Beit Sahour, Palestine, the story moves between private pain and public expectation, where the body becomes a site of struggle, waiting, and resilience. The birth of Luna brings fragile hope—but not relief—as the family faces the uncertainty of raising a child under occupation and the ongoing reality of war.
Grounded in honesty rather than explanation, the film breaks a silence surrounding reproductive health and offers a deeply human portrait of love, vulnerability, and survival.
Statement
This film aims to shed light on the often unseen emotional and social realities of infertility and endometriosis, particularly within Palestinian society. By sharing a deeply personal experience, the film seeks to break the silence surrounding reproductive health struggles and challenge the stigma faced by couples. It raises awareness about the psychological impact of long-term medical uncertainty and repeated treatment failures. Through a personal and observational approach, the film encourages open dialogue about women's health, mental wellbeing, and the social expectations placed on parenthood.
