I Era Händer / In Your Hands

After a traumatic event, Hanna begins therapy to make sense of what happened. When her therapist introduces an alternative treatment, she’s plunged into a hypnotic journey through the memories that shaped her — each more unsettling than the last — until a human rights activist steps in and hijacks the narrative. A film about sadistic people doing kind things —and about clawing through what hurts to find what sets you free.

Statement

The film addresses social impact by shedding light on forms of violence and power imbalance that are often overlooked, particularly within queer relationships. By using hand‑drawn animation, it visualizes emotional and psychological experiences that are difficult to capture through live action, making the subject matter more accessible to a wider audience.

The project aims to spark dialogue around consent, agency and healing, while offering representation to survivors whose stories are rarely seen in Swedish film. In doing so, it contributes to broader conversations about trauma, identity and the importance of reclaiming one’s own voice.
