Cimitir / Cemetery

"Cimitir" is a collage of audio files from my childhood and footage of abandoned homes. This location made me reflect on the idea of how we leave behind not only physical spaces but also memories and pieces of our past. It reflects on how time gently wears away at our lives, turning once-vivid moments into quiet remnants, almost lost to the dust of forgotten years. Over time, our history becomes something we no longer recognize, a ruin.

Statement

My film quietly reflects on how memory shapes our sense of belonging and identity. It speaks to a shared experience of loss, migration, and emotional distance, especially in a time when personal histories are increasingly stored, forgotten, or left behind. Rather than offering answers, the work invites viewers to reconnect with fragile memories of their own and to consider what remains of us after time has passed through the places we once called home.
