I’m Sared Ramírez, a Mexican filmmaker currently finishing a Master’s in Cinema at
Sorbonne University in Paris, where I specialize in the study of film form. I chose this
frame from my latest project, Le Soleil, which is currently in postproduction. The idea
for this film came to me when I was very young in Mexico, and it’s taken over ten
years to finally take shape. I love that—it reminds me how stories have their own life,
and how they ask for patience, time, and perseverance to become what they’re
meant to be. It’s also the first film I’ve shot on 35mm, so it holds a very special place
in my heart.
