This frame comes from my animated movie „Wander of Light”. The story was developed during my two-year journey across the United States. I drew this scene multiple times over that period. It began as early sketches, inspired by the ocean and the hidden worlds of Florida. Later, it evolved and became richer in color further north, among the forests, wildlife, and cliffs of New Hampshire and Maine.. to finally be completed back in my family home in Poland, where the rhythm of drawing was quiet and familiar, making it easier to wrap everything together while being wrapped in my mom’s care, as she brought me cup after cup of warm tea while I worked.
Unlike in live-action film, a frame of animation does not capture a single moment in time. Each place left its own trace in the image. That is what I love most about animation: it holds fragments of lived experience. Every detail comes from something real - something seen, felt, or remembered along the way.
